Berlin based artist MTO is now in USA where he already dropped two wonderful murals, one in Miami and another one in Sarasota.
“Road Trip 2” (image above) was sponsored by “Going Vertical” and curated by Kafi Benz whilst “Road Trip” (image below) was painted for Miami Art Basel 2013 and made possible by Adjust Gallery and Aric Weis.
Both mural are representative of MTO’s hyperrealistic style characterised by the use of black and white with only a few splashes of bright colours. The mural painted in Miami salutes in many ways his journey across from Europe with the Ray-Ban logo being replaced by ‘Road Trip’ in the pair of sunglasses which also features a reflected image of the American flag (have a look at the photo gallery).
Location: MTO’s mural in Sarasota is on Ninth Street between Tamiami Trail and Cocoanut Avenue on the north wall of The Players Theatre, whilst the one in Wynwood Miami is Located at the corner NW 24 ST and NW 2nd AV.
