Mexican artist Paola Delfín is one of the international artists participating of this year’s RAW (Reimagining the Arts in Wynwood) project, organised by Robert de los Rios, and which aims to bring to the schools some of the art that now covers walls in the rest of the neighbourhood.
“Conexion •3” as the mural has been titled, was painted at the Eneida M. Hartner Elementary school and features the melancholic black and white portrait of a young woman. Her eyes are closed, but her face is very expressive and we can almost sense certain sadness and pain on it, a feeling that seems reinforced by the image of a detached heart on the left.
Paola Delfín’s work is influenced by illustration expressing beauty and a feminine sensibility through delicate drawing and organic forms, something that becomes evident in this new and haunting mural. Below images of the work provided by the artist and Iryna Kanishcheva.
