Before heading to Miami for the Miami Art Basel 2013, Australian artist REKA stayed a few days in York where he had the opportunity to paint a couple of pieces.
The mural above, recently posted on his Instagram account, shows the image of a multicoloured Grasshopper painted in collaboration with The Bushwick Collective and can, according to the artist, be seen on the corner of Wycoff & Troutman in Brooklyn. Reka also painted a second piece entitled “The All Seeing Eye” on a roof top in Queens (no exact location given). Both pieces are a good example of Reka’s highly decorative style characterized by wavy lines and smooth finish.
