Earlier today updated Banksy his website posting a few pictures of his latest piece painted in Clacton sea front.
The image shows 5 pigeons sitting on a telephone wire along side a swallow holding up placards saying “migrants not welcome”, “Go back to Africa” and “Keep of our worms”, obviously alluding to UKIP’s anti-immigrant politics.
Apparently some people found this offensive and sent a complaint to the district council that quickly removed the piece, not knowing it was a Banksy. You can listen to Nigel Brown explain why the work was removed here.
According to them it was the right thing to do, do you believe them? I have my doubts, but I love the fact that this happened. Maybe this is exactly what Banksy was expecting to happen? I believe so…
