Remember Spanish artist Doa Ocampo aka DOA and her “Reforestation” project? Well, she is back with this new piece painted in Carballeira de Caldas de Reis in Galicia, Spain for Kaldarte 2015.
The title of the new piece, “Trifoliums” refers to the plant known as white clover or Dutch clover used here by DOA to ‘reforest’ the area in which it was created as part of her ongoing Reforestation project.
The artist describes the project as “the transformation of public space through an intervention in the based reality of perspective observation, supported by the sole ambition of rebirth, and the rebirthing consciousness surrounding it.” According to DOA the project has also been motivated by a need to encourage both respect and appreciation of our natural environment. Her mural interventions work in this way as reminders of the true nature and meaning of what surrounds us.
