“Blinkofaneye” is Tomasz Górnicki’s newest installation in the streets of Warsaw occupying one of the narrow openings of the railway bridge on Wisłostrada route.
The sculpture of a newborn, the artists son, has been placed under the bridge,2,5 meters above the ground. The sculpture appears to us as if it was falling, but this movement is paused. Only a thin line of light that during the day falls through the opening of the railway above it showing the passing of time. It moves like a pendulum, from left to right, day after day. According to Górnicki, the light displays the time-lapse in which this specific moment is caught hence the title “blink of an eye”.
