World-renowned muralist Case Maclaim is currently in the US where he just finished this splendid mural the Art (Re)Public festival in Jacksonville, Florida.
Case, who arrived a month ahead of the other muralists follows in this new mural Art (Re)Public’s curatorial theme, ‘Modern City of Dreams’ being inspired by Jacksonville’s Golden Age. His character, from which we only see the torso and hands, holds a stacks of books. One of these books is titled “Story of 100 years”, a nod to the wall’s neighbouring buildings, as well as our city’s rich history as an arts and cultural capital. Other titles include Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations and Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet, possibly to suggest the potential for a creative awakening in Jacksonville.
The rest of the participating artists will be arriving next week on November 4, officially kicking off Artists Week. The lineup includes artists like Reka, INO, Waone from Interesni Kazki, Kenor, CYRCLE, René Romero Schuler, Astrograff, Nico Holderbaum, and many others soon to be announced.
