Here is a short update with the work of Spanish visual artist Pablo S. Herrero who is currently in his hometown Salamanca where he recently painted this new mural titled “Continent” in the Garrido neighbourhood.
The mural is, according to the artist, a tribute to cartography, and about the first global maps that included America. As usual, Herrero’s work is organic, it seems to grow and expand the walls of the places he paints.
This particular mural could remind us of the one he painted a couple of years ago in the Italian city of Civitacampomarano (here) or the one he painted in another Spanish city last year, Cáceres (here).
However, his work follows that easily recognisable style centered around the image of the tree as both a force of nature and symbol of fragility, and where the motive of the mural interacts with its surroundings in a very natural way, becoming part of the surface of the wall.
