Brad-Downey-Barricades-1

American artist Brad Downey has made his mark on the international Urban Art scene with his radical installations, sculptures, and performances. With a certain element of surprise on his side, each of these interventions challenges our perception of the urban space as a place.
Downey’s art discourages quick glances and celebrates the double take. Using elements from film, sculpture, painting, and drawing, he creates remarkable work ranging from the spectacular and headline-making to the small, delicate, and almost hidden introducing us into the practice of Spontaneous Sculptures.
These two pieces were created last month in Klagenfurt, Austria and Basel, Switzerland. The work was commissioned by Lenhauro using police barricades.
