Italian artist 2501 was recently in USA invited to take part of the Glimpse of America Project in collaboration with All City Canvas.
Glimpse Of America is a journey taking place from June 15 to July 24 and going through cities like Miami, New Orléans, Atlanta, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Rochester, Detroit, Chicago, Las Vegas as well as many National Parks and deserts.
According to the guys behind this interesting project, the idea is to research for new forms of representation and space-time analytical tools in order to understand, show and document the relationship between the collective space and the life that flows through them.
Given the ephemeral character of street art, murals have become an experience rather than an object becoming a spatiotemporal and dynamic visualisation of their surroundings and the culture they were created for.
Having this in mind 2501 painted ‘Almost Empty’ a mural made possible thanks to the guys from 1xRUN and that proposes a series of large irregular forms, that challenge our perception of the physical space underneath them, the structure of the wall itself, and reinterpreting it in his own and particular way.
