Having a special passion for old buildings and the stories behind them, Argentinian painter Francisco Bosoletti brings to life ghosts from the past and the present through haunting portraits of mainly young women.
This is the case of “La Sirena Abandonada” (The Forgotten Mermaid), painted recently somewhere in Bosoletti’s hometown Armstrong.
Not unlike the rest of his work, characterized by a poetic and eclectic imagery, Bosoletti uses a palette of earth tones to explore the different sides of his characters, and of course the inevitable floral elements that interact with the expressionistic brushwork defining the composition.
