Here some images of Jorge Pomar’s new mural for the Monumental Art Festival in Gdańsk, Poland.
Titled “Schody do słońca” (Stairway to sun), the piece is according to the artis a continuation of his series about vexillology, geometry and the study of colour.
For the occasion he selected flags of different countries of the world with the symbol of the sun in it, including the Polish one. As expressed by Pomar “united, they build a path to the light.”
Curiosa fact: Lech Wałęsa, the leader of “Solidarity” movement, 1983 Nobel Peace Price and first president Poland after the fall of communist regime (1990 – 1995), used to live in this precise building in the eighties.
