Italian artist Marco Mangione, also known as GUE, published recently a few images of his latest mural painted in occasion of the Impulsi Urbani project organised in Floridia, Sicily and that aims to create a permanent exhibition consisting of outdoor installation and murals in order to revitalise the urban space.
Born in 1986 in Catania, Sicily, Gue is one of those artists that have been making waves in the Italian street art scene during the last couple of years.
He became part of the scene around 2003 and since Gue’s style has developed from incorporating abstract figurative motifs to going fully abstract. His work is characterised by a lightness of form and delicacy of colour gradations and transparencies that give shape to what the artist calls “a flexible space”, opening a dialogue with the surrounding architecture and landscape. Titled “Lumen”, the new mural seems to be a perfect example of the artist’s current research field.
